HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The City of Hutchinson is pleased to announce the appointment of David Sotelo as the Director of Strategic Growth, a newly established position aimed at fostering sustainable growth, economic development, and community enhancement.
In this key leadership role, Mr. Sotelo will be responsible for driving strategic initiatives that contribute to the overall well-being of our community. The position involves collaboration with diverse stakeholders, including other city departments, community leaders, businesses, and external partners.

The newly appointed Director of Strategic Growth for the City of Hutchinson will be tasked with developing and implementing strategic plans aligned with the city’s vision, identifying investment opportunities, leading housing initiatives to address affordability and diversity, and coordinating the City’s downtown redevelopment. Additionally, he will spearhead projects for enhancing residents’ quality of life, collaborate with various stakeholders to leverage resources, and provide direction to internal teams including the Human Relations Office, communications, and a housing coordinator. Through effective partnership-building and supervision, the Director will play a vital role in driving positive change and growth within the community.
