INMAN, Kan. — Charges have been filed in connection with Wednesday morning’s shots fired incident in Inman that led to cancellation of classes in USD 448.
In a complaint filed in McPherson County District Court Friday, Benjamin Schwindt of Inman is charged with two counts of criminal discharge of a firearm, involving shooting at two homes in the 300 block of south Maple, criminal damage to property involving a vehicle, possession of a firearm under the influence, and unlawful discharge of a firearm in a city.
Schwindt is also facing charges in two other cases filed Wednesday, one involving an incident on Nov. 9 where he allegedly damaged a vehicle in McPherson, and another alleging violation of a protective order and domestic battery on Dec 15, and a second domestic battery case from October from which the protective order was issued.
Court records indicate a motion to revoke bond had been filed in the latter case, for which a pre-trial conference had been scheduled for Jan. 15. Jail records indicate Schwindt is being held on listed bonds totaling just over $25,000, with the motion to revoke listed as a no bond warrant.
