Every year, Ride Like MADD honors a victim of drunk or impaired driving. This year, the ride honors Deputy Sheriff Sidnee Carter. Deputy Carter served with the Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Office for two years before her life was tragically ended by an impaired driver.

After representing victims of drunk and impaired driving for over 30 years, Bretz Injury Law has witnessed the profound and enduring effects that impaired driving has upon families. Our long-standing partnership with MADD highlights our dedication to eliminating drunk driving and offering assistance to those impacted. Matt Bretz serves as the Vice Chair on the National Board of Directors for MADD. This role exemplifies our continued dedication to promoting road safety and advocating for change while extending a helping hand to those in need.

Malarie Lindhorst, Director of Development for MADD Heartland said, “Mothers Against Drunk Driving is focused on one goal: ending impaired driving for good. Since our founding, we’ve served as a lifeline for more than 900,000 victims and survivors, and drunk driving fatalities have been cut in half — but we refuse to stop there. In every state, it is illegal to drive drunk, yet data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports one person was killed in a drunk driving crash every 39 minutes in the United States in 2021. Ride Like MADD, presented by Bretz Injury Law, bolsters our ability to end drunk driving, help fight drugged driving, support victims of these violent crimes, and prevent underage drinking.”

Bretz Injury Law and MADD are committed to reducing the devastating impact of drunk and impaired driving through advocacy, education, and support for affected individuals and their families.
