Coach Harlin has been teaching for 19 years overall. He earned his teaching degree at Pittsburg State University and McPherson was where he got his first job.

Harlin spent 10 years in a special education setting, then was transferred to his current position at McPherson High School.

“I just had a lot of coaches in high school and college that influenced me to get into coaching, so that was kind of what sparked it,” Harlin said, explaining what made him decide to teach.

In a nomination submitted for Coach Harlin, he was described as someone impactful in both sports and within the McPherson community.

The nominator also shared the following reasons why Coach Harlin should be recognized.
