McPHERSON, Kan. — Thanks to shoppers and volunteers throughout the month of May, the ReUse It Center was able to donate $4,750 to the following organizations.
The Omega Project
The Omega Project is a multi-faceted, faith-based recovery program that emphasizes heart level changes of men and women. We offer lifestyle change to those whose probable future would have been jail or homelessness. We provide a place to live, teaching and training in lifestyle transformation, work opportunities, and contact with those who have overcome the addictive lifestyle.
Oxford House
STEPMC acquired the Mt Hope Sanctuary House and has turned it into an Oxford House. This donation will go towards the upkeep of the house. Oxford Houses are self-run, self-supported recovery housing. Oxford House has as its primary goal the provision of housing and rehabilitative support for the alcoholic who wants to stop drinking or using and stay sober.
Habitat for Humanity
McPherson Area Habitat for Humanity is part of a global, nonprofit housing organization operated on Christian principles that seeks to put God’s love into action by building homes, communities and hope. McPherson Area Habitat for Humanity is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing locally and worldwide through constructing, rehabilitating and preserving homes; by advocating for fair and just housing policies; and by providing training and access to resources to help families improve their shelter conditions.
National Child Safety Council
