HUTCHINSON, Kan. – McPherson High School Girls Swimming faced off against Ark Valley Chisholm Trail League (AVCTL) opponents Friday, May 10 in Hutchinson for the league meet, putting them one step closer to state.
The Bullpups racked up multiple wins in individual and team races, including Danica Brunk taking first in the 200 Freestyle and the 500 Freestyle and McPherson taking the top spot in the 200 and 400 Freestyle Relays. Rachel Fischer, Bree Pickerell and Clarea Williams also pushed the Bullpups into the top three in many other events.
“League is always a fun meet for us,” head coach Angela Brunk said. “We swam some good times and had some huge drops in times. It shows how our hard work during the season has paid off. I was proud of our girls for getting second place at this meet.”
The team will get ready for the 5-1A State meet Friday May 17-Sat. May 18 at the Shawnee Mission School District Aquatic Center in Lenexa.
