PAWNEE COUNTY, Kan. — One man is dead and another in custody after an early Saturday evening shooting south of Larned.
Pawnee County Attorney Douglas McNett said dispatch was notified of the shooting just after 5 PM at a property along K-19 South. The shooting victim was taken by EMS to Pawnee Valley Community Hospital where he later died of his injuries.
McNett said 67-year-old Michael Reynolds of Larned was arrested at the scene without incident on anticipated charges of second degree murder and aggravated assault. Reynolds was booked into the Pawnee County Jail.
The Kansas Bureau of Investigation was called in to assist in the investigation by the Pawnee County Sheriff’s Office, with Larned Police and the Kansas Highway Patrol also assisting.
McNett said Sunday no further information will be released by his office pending filing of charges.
