Bullpup Boys Stay Undefeated, Start Postseason With Strong 61-22 Win Over Buhler

McPHERSON, Kan. – The Bullpup boys started off the postseason on a high note, winning their first sub-state game 61-22 against rival Buhler, making this their 3rd victory over the Crusaders this season.

The Bullpups shot a terrific 59% on the floor, 60% from three, forced 18 turnovers, assisted on 19 of 25 made shots, and had 11 different scorers.

Only one Bullpup scored in double-figures, which was a 22-point effort by Cory Muehler. Gabe Pyle added 9 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals.

The No. 1 Bullpup boys look to make the state tournament again, but will first have to face No. 8 Concordia Saturday at 5 p.m. Concordia defeated Rose Hill 51-44 in OT in their first-round Sub-State matchup. The meeting will be just their second in history. Their other meeting was a 65-43 McPherson win in Sub-State in 2012.
