WICHITA, Kan. (MacBulldogs.com) — Collin Storr has been named the KCAC Newcomer of the Year, following an outstanding first season in a McPherson College uniform, the league announced Wednesday (Feb. 28).
In addition to that honor, Storr was also selected to the All-KCAC Second team, while Curtis Rose picked up an All-KCAC honorable mention selection.
A native of Nassau, Bahamas, Storr led the Bulldogs in a number of statistical categories, including scoring (15.3 PPG), rebounding (10.2 RPG), and blocking (1.1 BPG). Storr was also at the top of the KCAC in several categories, leading the league in blocks per game and offensive rebounds per game (3.4).
Storr led the Bulldogs in scoring in 14 of their 28 games, and paced the team with 14 double-doubles.
Rose was second on the team in scoring, averaging 11.6 points per game. The Midwest City, Okla. native led the Bulldogs with 2.8 assists per game, and was tied with Storr for the team lead with 1.4 steals per game.
“I’m proud of both Collin Storr and Curtis Rose and really excited for them to receive these awards,” head coach T.J. Eskildsen. “Both of these guys were a huge part of our success this season. They both work really hard and are great teammates.”
Storr, Rose, and the Bulldogs open the KCAC Tournament Thursday (Feb. 29) in Winfield, to take on third-seeded Southwestern College. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
