HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Saving lives and helping others is always the top priority for Hutchinson first responders. Again, this year, these first responders will be using that lifesaving priority to bolster the community’s blood supply. Join Hutchinson’s first responders and be a lifesaver at the annual American Red Cross Hutchinson Battle of the Badges Blood Drive.
During the annual Battle of the Badges Blood Drive, the Hutchinson Fire and Police departments compete to see who can recruit the most blood donors. Everyone who comes to give can cast a vote to determine who will win this year’s bragging rights to the trophy. All those who come to donate during the Battle of the Badges Blood Drive will receive a commemorative T-shirt, while supplies last. Chicken and noodles will be served daily and cinnamon rolls on Wednesday morning.
The blood drive in 2022 collected 338 units and in 2023 collected 263 units – that’s 75 units less last year that could have impacted up to 225 lives. We need your help this year to make a difference for patients in need of blood!
Be a hero to patients in need: Kids fighting cancer, patients waiting for critical surgeries, and people in your town and across the country who will need blood to survive traumatic injuries.
