The number of home sales during November through Prairie Land Realtor’s Mid-Kansas Multiple listing service was down 19.1 percent from a year ago, and median sale prices with one notable exception were also down.
89 homes sold through the MLS last month, compared with 110 in November, 2022, with the median sales prices of $134,000 down 12.9 percent from last year. The exception to median sales price declines was in the McPherson area, which also includes MLS sales in Marion County, where the $190,000 median price was up 15.2 percent.
Across the Prairie Land region there were 247 active listings as of November 30th, up 48 units from the same point of 2022, with the median home on the market for 15 days and selling at 99 percent of list prices.
In Reno County, 41 homes sold, down 22.6 percent from a year ago, with the median sales price down 29 percent to $110,053. As of the end of November there were 107 active listings in Reno County, equating to a 1.6 month inventory. The median home was on the market for nine days.
The McPherson area also saw a drop in home sales with 23 homes sold, down 25.8 percent. There were 50 active listings in the McPherson area as of November 30th, or a 1.7 month supply. The median home was on the market for 19 days.
In the Pratt area, which also includes sales in Barber County, seven homes sold which was unchanged from November 2022. The median sales price in the Pratt area of $90,000 was down 33.3 percent, with homes selling on the market for a median of 37 days, down sharply from a year ago.
91 contracts were written by Mid Kansas MLS members during November, the same as in 2022, with 125 contracts still pending at month’s end.
