Rose scored the first four points of the second half on four-straight free throws, following a pair of technical fouls, to put the Bulldogs on top 44-38, then a layup by Quinn Collins gave MC its largest lead of the contest at 46-39.
However, the Coyotes quickly closed the gap, taking a 51-50 advantage with 14:40 remaining the game. An 11-2 run by Kansas Wesleyan pushed the deficit to 60-52.
From there, the Bulldogs were able to cut it to a three point lead three times.
