McPHERSON, Kan. — McPherson firemen were called out during the noon hour Wednesday to a structure fire in the 900 block of North Myers.
Fire Chief TJ Wyssmann told Ad Astra News the fire originated in the garage on the north side of the single story, ranch-style home. First arriving crews found heavy smoke and fire showing in the garage, extending into the attic but not into the living space.
A hole was opened up in the roof above the garage, which provided ventilation and enabled engine crews to access and extinguish the fire.
Two pets were found inside the residence, they were removed and are safe.
Cause of the fire is under investigation.
