Bulldogs Suffer First Loss of Season to Friends

WICHITA, Kan. (MacBulldogs.com) – The McPherson College Bulldogs suffered their first setback of the season Saturday night (Nov. 18) in a 70-66 loss to Friends University inside the Garvey Center in Wichita, Kan.

The Bulldogs scored the first 18 points of the game, but Friends answered with an 11-0 spurt over the next 94 seconds. The Falcons clawed back to make it a 37-34 Bulldog lead at the break.

The second half was a battle, with neither team leading by more than four. The Bulldogs grabbed a 62-60 lead thanks to a triple by Jamil Hardaway, but back-to-back threes by K.J. Spiller gave the Falcons a lead they would never give up.

Quinn Collins led the Bulldogs (5-1, 1-1 KCAC) with 15 points, eight rebounds, and four blocks. Owen Braxmeyer added 13 points and eight rebounds.

The Falcons shot 53.8 percent (7-for-13) from the three-point line and had five fewer turnovers than the Bulldogs (12).

MC will be back in action next Saturday (Nov. 25) when they travel to Forest City, Iowa to take on Waldorf University.
