WICHITA, Kan. (MacBulldogs.com) – Freshman Chloe Clevenger has been named KCAC Defensive Player of the Week following a record setting performance in Friday’s season-opening win over Barclay College, the league announced Monday (Oct. 30).

“One of the best first games I have ever seen from a freshman,” head coach Josh Nichols said. “Defensively she was all over the floor and was extremely active. On the offensive side she played well too.”

The McPherson, Kan. native tied a single-game school record with nine steals to help power the Bulldogs to a 75-41 win over the Bears in Haviland, Kan. Offensively, she added a team-high six assists and scored 11 points.

Clevenger and the Bulldogs are back in action Friday and Saturday for the McPherson Classic. The Bulldogs will take on John Brown University on Friday (Nov. 3) at 6:00 p.m., then Manhattan Christian College on Saturday (Nov. 4) with tipoff coming at 6:00 p.m.
