GARNETTE, Kan. – McPherson Volleyball made the 144-mile trek to Garnett on Saturday, going 4-2 and placing second overall at the Anderson County Tournament. The Bullpups went 2-1 in pool play, with wins over Labette County and Burlington.
Both losses came and the hands of host Anderson County, who defeated McPherson in pool play, 29-27, 25-20, and in the championship match, 25-18, 23-25, 25-19.
Ava Romero, who led her squad in kills (33) and assists (107) was named to the All-Tournament Team. Brooke Doile had a team-best 48 digs, while Alex Romero finished with 6 blocks.

Cross Country
McPherson cross country battled windy conditions to earn some solid times at League Cross Country in Wichita last Thursday. The varsity girls placed third while the varsity boys raced home fourth.
The girls stacked five runners inside the top 20, led by Lexi Patterson’s 10th-place time of 22:10. Caleb Muehler led the effort for the boys, turning a time of 16:40 into a 4th-place finish.
