McPHERSON COUNTY, Kan. — One person was airlifted to a Wichita hospital after an accident involving a motorcycle and truck late Monday morning on the southwest edge of McPherson.
The McPherson County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched at 10:10 AM to K-153, the old 81 bypass, and Iron Horse Road, where a Kawasaki Motorcycle had collided with a yellow Ford F75 utility truck.
The 37-year-old male driver of the motorcycle received lifesaving aid from McPherson EMS and Fire according to McPherson County Sheriff’s Department and was then transported to McPherson Hospital and later flown to Wichita by LifeWatch helicopter.
Preliminary information and witness statements indicate the motorcycle driver was attempting to pass the utility vehicle, which was attempting to make a left turn at the time of the collision.
The accident remains under investigation.
