HUTCHINSON, Kan. — The Reno County CROP Hunger Walk will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 1. Registration will begin at 1:30 p.m., and attendees will gather at the gazebo by the Rice Park Splash Pad, at Swarens and 19th in Hutchinson, then walk on the trail by Cow Creek.

A water station will be available at the turn-around point near the 5th Avenue bridge, but those walking are welcome to bring their own water bottles as well.

This is an annual event, with walks held in various locations all over the country to raise money for clean water, sustainable food sources, safe hygiene, etc.

In addition, 25 percent of the money raised at the local Reno County Walk will stay in Reno County and will go to the Reno County Food Bank and Christian Soup Ministries. If the goal of $8,000 is reached this year, the food bank and soup kitchen would each receive $1,000.
