HUTCHINSON, Kan. — A groundbreaking ceremony was held to celebrate the addition of a barbering program training facility at Hutchinson Community College on Thursday, Sept. 14. The building will be an addition to the existing Cosmetology structure at 200 East 3rd Ave., in Hutchinson.
The clinic floor will be open to the public and community and will have training space of over 3,000 square feet and 20 new barbering stations.
According to HutchCC, the college will be the first in the state of Kansas to offer the Barbering Certificate as college credit hours and the option to continue to finish with an Associate of Applied Science degree.
Completion of the building is slated for Summer 2024.
