HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Jon Robinson, who organized the pop culture and comic book celebration Smallville Con in Hutchinson for the past ten years announced a “conclusion of operations” on Friday.
Robinson said following the conclusion of the 10th Comic Con last summer they acknowledged the increasing impact to their families coupled with rising operation costs no longer supportive of a quality show.
In a press release Friday, Robinson expressed sincere appreciation to the dedicated fans who believed in their dream, provided inspiration and stoked the excitement of every event.
Robinson closed his statement by saying, “This has been an extremely difficult choice, but like the television series which inspired us, sadly our adventure too, now comes to an end after ten seasons.”
