HUTCHINSON, Kan. —  The month of August was volunteer month and United Way of Reno County celebrated with 580 volunteers on Saturday morning for the United Way Community Work Day. They started the day off serving the volunteers pancakes and sent them out to work on 30 different projects across Reno County from repainting the basketball courts at Graber Elementary School to painting houses for people in the community and putting bunk beds together for Interfaith housing.

Many organizations of Reno County and community members lent out a helping hand on Saturday including the Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters Serving Reno County, First National Bank, Reno County Government workers, Bold LLC, and many more.

United Way of Reno County said words cannot express their gratitude for the crowd of volunteers who joined on Saturday. Reno County Government workers and their family members (34 volunteers) were one of the groups who painted a house as their project on Saturday. Thoracic Park Chiropractic & Wellness cleaned the Rcat bus stops as well.
