HUTCHINSON, Kan. — Hutchinson Community Foundation has opportunities available for those wishing to volunteer with a nonprofit organization.
For individuals with a desire to volunteer paired with a love of Reno County, Hutchinson Community Foundation offers opportunities to serve.
The community foundation seeks volunteers for the following:
- Board of directors
- Changemakers at Work Grants Committee
- Youth Philanthropy Council
- Standing committees
The board of directors and various standing committees meet monthly or every other month throughout the year to provide expertise and guidance to the organization and its initiatives.
The Changemakers at Work Grants Committee is responsible for reviewing and awarding project proposals from area nonprofit organizations seeking Changemakers at Work grants. The grants range from $200 to $2,500 and are awarded annually to projects that bring people together, build on community assets, and enhance community pride and identity. The 2023 committee will meet four times in the fall.
The Youth Philanthropy Council is made up of Reno County high school students who learn about the community while working alongside each other to evaluate project proposals and award $5,000 in grants to youth-serving organizations. The council meets in the fall and winter.

To be considered for the 2023 Changemakers at Work Grants Committee, applications should be submitted by Aug. 31. To be considered for the 2023-2024 Youth Philanthropy Council, forms should be submitted by Oct. 1.
