IRVING, Tex. (Big12Sports.com) – No. 11 Texas, No. 16 K-State, No. 17 TCU and No. 20 Oklahoma will begin the 2023 football season ranked in the Preseason Associated Press Top 25. Additionally, Texas Tech, Kansas and Baylor received votes.
All four Top 25 teams were also ranked in the Preseason USA Today/AFCA Coaches Poll along with Texas Tech, who was ranked in the preseason for the first time since 2008. The Red Raiders were one position out of the Top 25 in the AP ratings.
The Big 12 opens the season with all teams in non-conference action over Labor Day weekend.
