STERLING, Kan. — The City of Sterling will be flushing hydrants throughout this week. During this time you may experience discolored water, low water pressure and the presence of sediment out of your tap. The water is still safe to use, but may cause issues in doing laundry.
If you come across sediment issues, run your water a few minutes and it should clear up. This process is done by municipalities from time to time to remove sediment and mineral buildup from water mains, and also ensures hydrants are working when needed.
