HUTCHINSON, Kan. — According to the City of Hutchinson, the Rice Park Splash Pad, located at 2112 N Hendricks Street has been having pump issues and is currently operating intermittently. They stated that the Park staff is working to replace the faulty pump as soon as possible, and an update will be released once a repair date is available.
The city also announced that the way the splash pad currently functions, the water will shut off when the pump overheats and it will remain off for an unspecified period of time while the pump cools down. Once cool, the splash pad will resume functioning as normal.
The city apologizes for any inconvenience this causes anyone’s summer plans and appreciates their patience as they work to resolve the issue.
