HUTCHINSON, Kan. – On Thursday, July 6th, Hutchinson Police Department, along with the Hutchinson Fire Department and Reno County EMS, were dispatched to the 2100 block of North Waldron for a crash involving a single vehicle vs power pole. The incident occurred shortly after 12:30 p.m.
It was discovered a 91-year-old male was heading South on Waldron when he suffered a medical condition and crashed into a pole. An 88-year-old female was also in the vehicle. Both were transported to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center and the female then to Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Wichita. On July 7th, she succumbed to her injuries.
Both the driver and passenger were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash. The name of the deceased is not being released at this time.
