NEWTON, Kan. (scwarriors.com) –The 27th Annual Warrior Wood & Wedge Golf Tournament took place Saturday, June 10th, at Sand Creek Station in Newton, Kansas.
Thirty-six teams participated in this year’s event. The proceeds from the tournament are used to purchase new athletic equipment, upgrade athletic facilities throughout campus that directly affect our student-athletes experience.
This year’s championship flight tournament winners were George Stover, Pat Fulton, Brian Budke, Scott Grier shooting a tournament-low 54. Second place in the championship flight was Chris Duskin, Greg West, Steve Meier and Dustin Anderson with 59.
The second flight winners were the Mike Folks, Kyle Reiger, James Reiger and Guy Gann, shooting a respectable 63. Second place by tie-break in the 2nd flight, also shooting a 63, were Steve Bangert, Rylie Hayes, Kenan and Chad Comley.
The third flight winners were made up of Scott Downing, Don Porter, Andrew Downing and Larry Leibrand 71. 2nd place in the third flight, also by a tie-break, were Don Reed, Kyle Reed, Thomas Reed and Allen Caskey.
