28th Annual Victory Soccer Camp A Huge Success

McPHERSON, Kan. – Last week, the Central Christian College of Kansas Soccer Programs, in conjunction with the local McPherson Recreation Commission, hosted the 28th annual Victory Soccer Camp at CCCK.  The camp ran from June 5-9, and was well attended with over 85 players from many of the local cities including McPherson, Lindsborg, Salina, Hesston, Inman, Halstead, Wichita, Hutchinson, and Topeka.

Coach Hoxie was excited with the reputation of the camp, especially in the younger ages; “I enjoy that each year our camp reaches out and draws players from many of the local towns.  For me, I thought that camp this year was one of the best, in terms of quality, that we have had in a very long time.  I do not think we had anyone with attitudes and all of the players were working hard, but most importantly, enjoying themselves.”

This year’s camp had a personal point for Coach Hoxie as he saw a full “class” of students come through the camp from the youngest age group to graduation.  “It does make me a little bit emotional when I stop for a few minutes to think about those kids who have been here for the last eleven years.  These kids have been instrumental in helping to transition the camp into this new format that we currently enjoy.  It also brings into the forefront of how long I have been doing this, and it has been fun to sift through the memories.”

The camp continues to grow each year and the coaching staff was able to maintain a 10-1 camper to coach ratio.  “Special thanks to all of my coaches.  We had four coaches come back to assist that have been at the camp as youth, and that is exciting to see them give back to the community.  The quality of the head coaches that are involved speaks for themselves with over 50 years of head coaching experience between them in club, HS, and at the college level.  These are the ones who make this camp go.  All credit of success goes out to them.  I couldn’t do this without them!” Coach Hoxie commented.  “Also, special thanks to Natalie Adrian for her work behind the scenes.  She does ALL of the dirty work so that I can be on the field with the kids.  Her contribution has increased the value of the camp ten-fold.”

The 29th annual Victory Soccer Camp will be held June 3-7, 2024 at Central Christian College of Kansas.  Save the date and follow Central Christian College Athletics, CCCK Men Soccer, or CCCK Women Soccer on social media for updates.
