McPHERSON, Kan. – The McPherson Pipeliners played their third game in three nights on Wednesday, as they hosted the Midwest Moos at Light Capital.
McPherson would find themselves trailing 4-3 after the bottom of the fourth inning as Jackson Edwards was 3 for 3 with a homerun and a pair doubles. Cooper Smith also drove in a run, combining with Edwards for five of the six hits for the Pipeliners. “We had good offense tonight.” said Head Coach Ryan Child following the game, “The guys came out swinging from the first inning on.”
Child mentioned a few struggles on the mound after a 9-run fifth inning, but the staff was pleased with McPherson-native and Central Christian College’s Collin Pearson, who pitched two scoreless innings on the mound giving up just two walks and didn’t allow a hit in the 13-3 loss.
The Pipeliners remain on the hunt for their first win, moving to 0-3 to begin the season. They’ll host the Kansas Curve on Thursday, first pitch from Light Capital is set for 7:00 p.m.
