HUTCHINSON, Kan. – A combined project totaling almost $10.4 million will involve a mill and hot-mix-asphalt overlay on about 35 miles of K-61 in Pratt and Reno counties.
The Kansas Department of Transportation project is expected to begin around May 22 and be completed around early September.
The Pratt County portion of the work will be on K-61 from just north of Pratt — where the four lane-portion transitions to two lanes – north to the Pratt/Reno county line.
The Reno County segment will be on K-61 from the Pratt/Reno county line north to the south edge of the Ninnescah River bridge just north of Arlington.
During the project, traffic will be restricted to one lane and controlled by flaggers and a pilot car. Motorists should expect to slow down and stop and face delays of up to 15 minutes.
