STAFFORD COUNTY, Kan. – Five graduating seniors from Barton and Stafford Counties have been awarded $1 thousand scholarships each from the Central Kansas Catbackers. Since 2016, the group has awarded scholarships to local students planning to attend Kansas State University.
Joshua Hildebrand from Stafford High School will be pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering with plans to enter the Air Force. Ryan Kuckelman from Macksville High School will be pursuing a degree in business marketing.
Scholarships were also awarded to three Great Bend High School seniors, including August Siefkes who plans to pursue a degree in Music Performance and a minor in business, Aubrey Smith who will seek a Biology degree with plans to enter the medical field, and Kevin Gonzalez who will pursue a degree in BioMedical Engineering.
