WICHITA, Kan. (macbulldogs.com) — Five Bulldogs received All-KCAC recognition following the team’s third straight KCAC regular season title and fifth title in the last six seasons, while head coach Keiran President won KCAC Coach of the Year, the league announced Wednesday.

President led the Bulldogs to an unbeaten KCAC record for the third consecutive season.

“Keiran has been a great addition to the McPherson College athletic department, and has represented the institution well,” assistant athletic director Ed Loeb said. “He has done an outstanding job of maintaining the success of the men’s and women’s tennis programs. I am looking forward to watching him continue that success and elevate the program moving forward.”

Marcus Nardy picked up KCAC Freshman of the Year honors after a season in which he finished 16-3 in singles, including an 8-2 mark in the #2 singles spot. Nardy also secured All-KCAC First Team honors.

“Marcus has climbed his way to the #2 spot as a freshman throughout the year,” President said. “He started off at the #6 position and was dominating at that spot, combining for a 16-3 overall record. He clinched some wins for us during the year as well as picked up some big wins against some ranked teams. He’s very gritty and hungry to win!”

Michael Beltran was named First-Team All-KCAC for the third time in his career, after a 15-7 record in the team’s top singles spot, including a 9-1 mark against KCAC opponents.

Oscar Brouwer finished the season with a 12-6 record to grab All-KCAC Second Team honors. Martin Millos and Celien Botlan picked up All-KCAC Honorable Mention.

“Congratulations go out to the team!” President said. “Everyone on the team played a role in getting us to where we are today. All these guys worked hard throughout the season and are deserving of all the awards that come their way. It’s great to see them representing our program and school so highly. Having 5 of our top 6 players make All-Conference or honorable mentions shows how tough these guys are! Excited for the conference tournament this weekend!”

The Bulldogs open the KCAC Tournament on Friday (Apr. 28) at 9 a.m. as they square off against fourth-seeded Bethel College at the Kossover Tennis Center in Topeka, Kan.
