Vitality Team of Reno County is now Bike Walk Hutch

HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The Vitality Team of Reno County will now be known as Bike Walk Hutch.

Bike Walk Hutch is a group of engaged citizens passionate about cycling, walking, running, and trails in the Hutchinson and Reno County areas. This group works to promote trail development and supports activities to encourage active living in the county.

The group will also be hosting Bike Walk Hutch Meet-Ups on the Third Tuesday in April through October. The first Meet-Up is scheduled for Tuesday, April 18 at 5:30 p.m. at the Mark Call Respite trailhead in Rice Park (near the Rice Park Shelter Building and parking lot). Meet-Ups are open to the public and the perfect opportunity to learn all about Bike Walk Hutch while enjoying a leisurely bicycle ride or walk. Bike Walk Hutch will also host quarterly meetings to discuss group activities and events, as well as initiatives and messaging around biking and walking in the Hutchinson area. In 2023 these meetings will be held the first Wednesday of the following months: May, August, and November. All meetings will take place at Hutch Rec Downtown, 17 E 1st Ave. at 12 p.m.

Bike Walk Hutch also serves as the host group for the Sand Plum Bicycle Classic and the Second Saturday Cycles in Reno County. This year’s Sand Plum Bicycle Classic will take place June 4, while the first Second Saturday Cycles will take place on May 13.
