HUTCHINSON, Kan. – On a 3-2 vote, the Hutchinson City Council Tuesday effectively ended any effort to reinstall traffic signals at the 30th and Lucille intersection in northeast Hutchinson. Signals were temporarily installed there during a bridge replacement on 43rd Avenue but were removed last August.
During a March 7th study session, the Council received a report from JEO recommending signals not be put back in place. The Council’s vote, on a motion by Stuart Conklin and seconded by Greg Fast, was to follow recommendations of that report, that no further evaluation be done, and that remaining equipment there be removed. Mayor Jon Richardson also voted in favor of the recommendation, with members Steven Garza and Stacy Goss voting against it.
Board Appointments
Appointments to two advisory boards were approved by the Council. Among Those appointments included Jeff Roberson and Amanda Smith to the Hutchinson Public Library Board, and Elizabeth Allan and Carolyn Parson to the Reno County Community Corrections Advisory Board.
