MCPHERSON COUNTY, Kan. – On Monday, March 27, the Kansas Department of Transportation will begin work to replace the pavement on I-135 in McPherson County near Moundridge.
During construction, median crossovers will be used, and traffic will run head-to-head during pavement replacement at a reduced speed.
The south exit into Moundridge, exit 46, will be closed at the start of construction for pavement replacement. Later this summer, as the contractor progresses north, exit 46 will reopen and the north exit into Moundridge, exit 48 will close for pavement replacement.
Koss Construction Co. of Topeka is the prime contractor and has scheduled this $19 million project to be completed in November, weather permitting.
KDOT urges all motorists to be alert and obey the warning signs when approaching and driving through a highway work zone. To stay aware of all road construction projects across Kansas, go to www.kandrive.org or call 5-1-1.
