WICHITA, Kan. — Nicole Brown of Ottawa University and Taya Wilson of #21 Sterling College have earned the KCAC Women’s Basketball Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week honors, respectively, the conference office announced Monday. The two student-athletes were selected for their performances from Feb. 6-12 by a vote of conference sports information directors. All KCAC Player of the Week honors are presented by Equity Bank.
Offensive Player of the Week
Nicole Brown – Ottawa University

In three games last week, Brown averaged a double-double. She scored 18 points, pulled down 13 rebounds, and averaged two blocks per game. She shot 53.5 percent from the floor and 80 percent from the free-throw line. Brown has 14 double-doubles this season and has recorded six straight. This is the third time this season Brown has been named the KCAC Women’s Basketball Offensive Player of the Week.

Defensive Player of the Week
Taya Wilson – #21 Sterling College
5-10 | Sr. | F | Sterling, Kan.
Wilson helped lead the Warriors to their third straight KCAC regular-season title this week. She averaged 9.5 defensive rebounds/game and 11.5 rebounds/game overall. She also led Sterling with six steals on the week. She had countless tips in the full-court press that led to turnovers, as well. She is putting up the best numbers in the fewest minutes of any of the Sterling College starters. Taya is now Top Five in the KCAC in four major categories (points per game, rebounds per game, steals per game, and blocks per game). This is the fourth time Wilson has been named the KCAC Women’s Basketball Defensive Player of the Week this season.
