McPHERSON, Kan.  — The McPherson College Bulldogs forced 28 turnovers, including a season-high 16 steals, to take down the York University Panthers Saturday night (Feb. 4) on Senior Night in the Sports Center. The win snaps a five-game losing streak.

Dy’mond McElrath scored 19 points to lead the Bulldogs and dished four assists.

The Bulldogs jumped out to a 13-5 advantage after the first quarter, then pushed it to a double-digit lead early in the second following a triple by Tytiana Haamid.

The Panthers responded by trimming it to a 19-17 Bulldogs lead, but that would be the closest the game would get. From there, it was all Bulldogs pushing their lead to 48-30, and keeping it double-digits the rest of the way.

With the win, the Bulldogs have now won eight of the last nine meetings against the Panthers, with the lone loss coming earlier this season in a 58-55 nailbiter in Nebraska.

Summer Kirkman finished with 11 points for the Bulldogs while pulling down a team-high eight rebounds. Madelyn Hankins added 10 points and three steals.

The Panthers were led in the scoring column by Arcadya Conway, who finished with 16 points. Alyssa Civitak finished with 14 points.

The Bulldogs return to the Sports Center for the final time on Wednesday night to take on Southwestern College. Tipoff is slated for 6 p.m.
