CHENEY, Kan. – Cheney USD 268 has named Marc Woofter as the district’s new superintendent, effective July 1, 2023. He was not among the three finalists announced last week by the board of education.
Woofter’s resume includes more than 30 years of experience in education, including administrative roles in Ellinwood, Derby, Dodge City, and Cimarron, where he was superintendent for four years.
Woofter, currently the principal at Cheney Elementary School, replaces David Grover, who is retiring at the end of the current school year.
