HUTCHINSON, Kan. – The Red Cross will host the Battle of Badges blood drive on Saturday, January 28, 2023, sponsored by Reno County 4-H at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, 140 E 30th, Hutchinson KS, and January 30th- February 1 at First Presbyterian Church, 201 E Sherman Hutchinson KS. Join your community’s first responders and be a lifesaver at Hutchinson’s Battle of the Badges Blood Drive.
During this year’s Battle of the Badges Blood Drive, Local Law Enforcement and the Fire Department will compete to see who can recruit the most blood donors. Everyone who comes to give blood can cast a vote to determine who wins this year’s bragging rights.
Winter weather can change in an instant – so can the nation’s blood supply. As we celebrate National Blood Donor Month throughout January, the American Red Cross asks donors to resolve to give blood to keep blood products stocked all season long. Blood donations to the Red Cross help ensure new moms, premature babies, cancer patients, and accident victims have access to safe, lifesaving blood. The Red Cross provides about 40% of the nation’s blood supply.
In partnership with the National Football League (NFL), those who come to give blood, platelets or plasma through Jan. 31, 2023, will be automatically entered to win a trip for two to Super Bowl LVII in Arizona. (Terms apply. Visit RedCrossBlood.org/SuperBowl.)
Eligible individuals are encouraged to schedule a blood or platelet donation appointment by using the Red Cross Blood Donor app, visiting RedCrossBlood.org or calling 800- RED-CROSS (800-733-2767).
