SALINA, Kan. – Chanute junior Kiley Dillow entered the 4A State Tournament on an 87-match win streak after being named the Regional Wrestler of the Year in Paola two weeks ago. She left Salina with her second consecutive undefeated state title at 170#.
Dillow pinned her way to the state title in 2025, opening with a win by fall over Lauren Nix of Hugoton, followed by a pin of Carly McAtee of Girard in the quarterfinals. In the semis, she took out Stefania Aranguiz of Rose Hill in just 22 seconds. Dillow wrestled her longest match of the weekend in the title bout, beating Grace Steam of Tonganoxie by fall in just 1:49 to finish the season 43-0. Dillow went 44-0 and won a state title in the 4-1A tournament in 2024 and after losing in the second round of the 2023 4-1A tournament, she reeled off four straight wins to finish in third place as a freshman. The three-time state medalist has combined to go 87-0 over the past two seasons, winning 91 consecutive matches overall.
Also for Chanute, sophomore Jarynn Hockett finished in 6th place at 105#, going 3-3 on the weekend and 31-18 for the season.
Three other wrestlers from the southeast part of the Ad Astra Radio area made it to the medal stand in 4A.
At 120#, Burlington senior Haylei Potter wrestled her way in to the state title bout, taking a 17-2 loss by technical fall in 5:35 to Colby’s Morgan Hills. Potter went 3-1 on the weekend, winning by technical fall in the opening round over Payton Newell of Clearwater, followed by wins by fall over Gabi Lange of Concordia in the quarterfinals and Cara Herbert of Larned in the semifinals. Potter finished 47-3 on the season. Also for Burlington, senior Olivia Lyons made the semifinals at 120#, falling to Leiannah Landreth of Mulvane. Lyons recovered with an ultimate tie-breaker win over Autumn Wilson of Tonganoxie in the consolation semis and then beat Alyssa Calovich of Chapman to take third place, finishing 4-1 on the weekend and 41-9 in her final season.
For Iola, freshman Addilyn Wacker made history as the first ever wrestler to medal for the Fillies. She also finished 4-1 on the weekend, making the semifinals, where she lost an 11-2 decision to Kahlyn Davis of Halstead. Wacker bounced back with a 4-1 decision over Karleigh Thorn of Marysville in the consolation semis before beating Payge Vetsch of Jefferson West by a 9-3 decision for third place. Wacker finished her first high school season at 29-9.
KSHSAA 4A Girls State Tournament Full Results
On the boys side in the 4A State Tournament, Cade Small of Chanute was the lone medalist from the Ad Astra Radio southeast area.
The senior went 3-1 for the weekend. He opened the tournament with a win by fall over Raul Perez of Pratt and then picked up a 13-4 major decision win over Pierce Casteel of Abilene. In the semis, Small defeated Kyler Jackson of Holton by major decision, 17-8. Isaiah Wilson of Andale was Small’s opponent in the championship match at 190#. Wilson picked up the win by fall in 1:25.
