STERLING, Kan. (SCWarriors.com) – Sterling College Athletics and Vice President for Athletics Scott Downing announced that Head Swim Coach Cord Harrington will be resigning from his position at the end of the swimming season.

“Cord has been a big part of our swimming program as an athlete and coach,” Downing said. “We appreciate the effort he has put into the program and wish him the best as he moves forward.”

Harrington was the first swimmer to graduate from the Warriors young swim program in 2020 and was the assistant swim coach under Laryssa McMartin for a year before taking over as the Interim Head Coach in the fall of 2022.

“I’d like to thank Justin Morris and Scott Downing for the opportunity to work and serve the school, Gary Kempf for mentoring me my first year, and the community for its support of the swimming program. Sterling is a great place to be, and I look forward to supporting from wherever I may end up,” Harrington said.

A nationwide search is currently underway to find the next men’s and women’s swimming at Sterling College.
