Neosho Men’s Basketball Opens Up Conference Play With Big Win

CHANUTE, Kan. (GoNeosho.com) – The Neosho County Men’s basketball team won their home conference opener over Highland Community College 83-62 Wednesday night. The Panthers led 43-23 at halftime and led by as many as 38 points in the 2nd half.

The leading scorer in the game for Neosho County was sophomore Damian Jones with 17 points.  Other Panther’s scoring in double figures were freshman Adyn Prophete with 13 points and redshirt sophomore Michael Doria with 12 points.  Freshman Champ Pewaukee added nine points.  The leading rebounders for Neosho County were redshirt sophomore Aaron Doria and Damian Jones with 5 rebounds. Freshman Jakub Pasieczny and Adyn Prophete each added 4 rebounds.  Aaron Doria had 5 assists to lead the Panthers, with freshman Justin Van Rooijen and Champ Powaukee each adding 4 assists.

Neosho County is now 8-8 on the season and 1-1 in conference play.  The Panther’s resume play on Saturday with a home conference game against league rival Allen County Community College at 4:00 PM.
