(KJCCC.org) – Following a record-setting performance last week that led to Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference Division 1 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week honors on Tuesday, Barton Community College sophomore Vivian Onugha has been named NJCAA Division 1 Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.

It was a massive week for Barton’s Vivian Onugha as the sophomore averaged 18 points and 24.5 rebounds in 36.5 minutes per game while helping the Cougars to a pair of victories. Onugha opened her week with a record-breaking performance grabbing 15 of her new program single-game most 26 rebounds in second-half action while adding 17 points for her 11th double-double of the year in the win over Fort Hays Tech Northwest. Onugha sustained the momentum out on the road, closing the week with her 12th double-double performance dropping 18 points and surpassing the 20-rebound mark for the sixth time this season with 23 rebounds in an overtime victory over Colby.
