NEWTON, Kan. (BethanySwedes.com) – The Bethany College Swedes Cross Country team powered through their second competition of the season. The Swedes ran at the Muthama-Rogers Invitational hosted by Bethel College in Newton, KS.  Battling some warmer conditions the runners prevailed and came away with a lot of improvement and showed grit.

Overall, the Swedes had 4 seasonal bests, 2 course personal bests and one lifetime best today. The men’s team finished in 3rd place overall in a strong field. They were led by Senior Chris Yoder and Sophomore Tristan Dye both coming home in a 29:34. Leading the charge for the women was freshman Isabella Arriola who ran nearly 2 minutes faster than her first race, good for a big seasons best.

“This was good for Tristan’s Lifetime best and right off a course best for Chris.  Both worked together and led the charge for the Swedes. We are very much looking forward to upcoming meets,” said Head Coach Aaron Yoder.
