BETHANY, Okla. (BethanySwedes.com) – The Bethany College Men’s Soccer team played against Southwestern Christian University in the fourth and final non-conference game of the season.

SCU would dominate much of the first half attacking heavily, however they struggled to get through in the final third due to a strong defensive line by the Swedes. Unfortunately for the Swedes they would concede to a set-piece play late in the first half.

In the second-half, the Swedes would come together to try and get back a goal to get them back into the game. Fernando Villaseca had an opportunity that scraped off the right goalpost which would have changed the entire dynamic of the game. Sebastian Gonzalez would also get an opportunity which was saved well by the SCU goalkeeper. In the final minutes the Swedes created opportunities but could not convert any. The game would 1-0 in favor of SCU.

Despite the result, Marco Paniagua was a standout performer with 6 saves for the Bethany College Swedes.
