McPHERSON, Kan. — At 7 p.m., in McPherson’s Wall Park the Independence Day events kick off with free face painting, temporary tattoos, and glow bracelets for kids. Live music with King Midas and the Muflers begins at 7:30, and the fireworks go off at dark with music on Mix 96.7.

The 4th of July events in McPherson continues with Independence Pops 2024 at 8 p.m. at the Lakeside Park Bandshell. Sponsored by Visit McPherson and McPherson College, Intrepid Brass Band will be performing patriotic favorites.

LINDSBORG, Kan. — If you’re looking for 4th of July event that’s not so loud, head to Lindsborg for their Old Fashioned 4th of July from 5 Until 8:30 at Swensson Park. The evening includes a patriotic parade of strollers, wagons, bikes and walkers, with entertainment starting at 6.

SALINA, Kan. — Salina has two fireworks shows. The first is Wednesday evening at Great Life Golf and Fitness on Marymount Road with events starting at 5, and on Thursday Skyfire takes place at the Berkley Family Recreation Area on Markley Road, with evens stating at 5 and the fireworks around 10 PM.

KANOPOLIS, Kan. — Kanopolis Lake is having their 4th of July Celebration Saturday at the Southside Beach Shelter. It gets underway at 6 with a food truck and live music from the Llew Brown Band. Their fireworks show is at dark Saturday night.

MARION COUNTY, Kan. — Marion County Lake east of Marion will have their fireworks show Thursday evening at dark. Before the show at 7 they will be having a parade around the lake, using your favorite vehicle or cart. they will meet up at the Lake Hall.

GALVA, Kan. — The Firecracker 5K and Festival in Galva Thursday begins with the 5K race with registration starting at 6:30 and the run at 7. Other events taking place at Lynn Baldwin Memorial Park include a blow-up water slide from 2-5, a cornhole tournament at 6 and the fireworks around 9:30 or once it’s good and dark. Proceeds from the day’s event will support Galva Recreation programs.

PEABODY, Kan. — Peabody’s 4th Fest, highlighted by the 103rd annual Fireworks Extravaganza, will be at the City Park. Events will be going on all day including, morning turtle races and horseshoes, a cornhole tournament at noon, free swim at 1, and an ice cream social from 2-4 that will be at the Vintage Bank Park. The parade begins at 5, with music and vendors after the parade, and fireworks and the Battle of New Orleans at dusk. There is a five-dollar button for the park events.
